Quebec, May 25, 2011 – Éditions Gladius International has obtained another contract with Disney, allowing the company to offer four new games featuring the popular characters from the Cars 2 animated film. This is a spectacular outcome for this Quebec-based company specializing in the design and marketing of board games. One month before the arrival in theatres of the highly anticipated sequel to the Cars movie, staff at Éditions Gladius are scrambling to meet orders from stores where the four new games starring Lightening McQueen and his band of cars will be offered for sale this week. Games developed by the Quebec company include Who? What?, a memory and association game, the popular Hide and Seek game, where players must find objects hidden in different game boards, Logico, a logical sequences game, and a 2-in-1 bean toss game as decorative as it is amusing. Games featuring the Éditions Gladius logo are made and designed here in Quebec.
“The only step that we do not handle is printing, which is outsourced to a printer in the region. All the rest, from negotiations to shipping, and of course assembly, are carried out at our facility in Beauport,” Marc Fournier, Research and Development Director at Éditions Gladius International.
“It is becoming more and more difficult to choose licenses that stand apart. The Cars licence has long been one of the most lucrative licenses in the world in the toys and games market. Cars 2 is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated movies this summer and expectations are running high with respect to sales of derivative products,” indicated Marc Fournier.
Winnie the Pooh Éditions Gladius is taking advantage of their partnership with Disney to add a new Hunt and Seek game to their collection starring childhood hero, Winnie the Pooh. This game will be available in a few weeks and is intended for children 2 to 4 years of age.
