| La Guerre des Clans, a game sure to enliven many Christmas partys! |
|
Quebec, November 17, 2010 – After creating board games based on the most popular TV game shows in Quebec (La Classe de 5e, Le Cercle, Paquet Voleur and Pyramide), Éditions Gladius launched La Guerre des Clans this week.
Éditions Gladius had sensed a demand for this board game for a long time. However, obtaining rights to its use was not easy. The Quebec-based company had to negotiate directly with FreemantleMedia, one of the leading players in the television industry with shows like Family Feud, The Price is Right, America’s Got Talent, etc. The agreement was finally signed in Las Vegas last June.
“We received the questions in September only, which made delays for each stage of production of the game extremely tight. Even up to recently, we were not sure we would be able to market the game in time for Christmas. Thanks to our regional partners who worked non-stop, we were able to meet the deadlines. Shipping of the game to stores began this week,” explained Marc Fournier, Research and Development Director for Éditions Gladius.
A real La Guerre des Clans party with the show’s host
Éditions Gladius organized a contest allowing a group to win a La Guerre des Clans party hosted by Jean-François Baril, who was happy to comply. The winning group will be announced December 9th next.
About Éditions Gladius: when business becomes a game
In 1993, after studying to become a wildlife conservation officer, Marc Fournier and two friends decided to create their own jobs by inventing a board game on the environment. Although unfamiliar with the world of business, the three young entrepreneurs designed Nature Enjeux, a quiz game on wildlife, flora and the environment. Today, the Éditions Gladius International roster of products is more than impressive, with games featuring well-known characters such as Dora the Explorer, Spider-Man, Caillou and many more. This Quebec company, employing some twenty people, takes great pride in producing all its games here. This strategy has allowed Gladius to stand apart from the competition by marketing 26 new products in 2010.
